Over the past couple months, show choir has become a large part of my photography endeavors, as I'm West High's show choir student photographer. Here are a few of the shows I recently took photos for.
Winter Swing Show is the first opportunity for West show choirs to demonstrate their hard work for family and friends in full costume. This show took place on December 22 and featured performances from both of West's show choirs, Showtime and the Good Time Company, as well as numerous special acts.
Choirs for a Cause is an annual event, formerly named "Dollars for Scholars," that benefits music-related causes in the Iowa City area. At this fundraiser, show choirs from all three ICCSD high schools perform, getting to see each other's shows and perform for a crowd one last time before competitions begin. This year's earnings went to the ICCSD Music Auxiliary.
Waukee Starstruck was the first competition for West show choirs, taking place in Waukee, Iowa. At this competition, West's varsity show choir, GTC, places fourth overall and the junior varsity show choir, Showtime, placed fifth.
